The Vermont Switchel Company was established in 2008 to share our family recipe with the world. Our ancestors, who were dairy farmers in Glover, VT mixed together maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, ginger and molasses (the lemon juice was our inspiration) and brought this concoction they called “switchel” to the hay fields to “slake their thirst.” We drink it cold when it’s hot out and hot when it’s cold (with a little cinnamon) and mix with spirits (like Vermont Vodka or Rum) when the spirit moves us!Good and good for you, it is a part of our agrarian heritage!
