The event will be held on Friday, September 26, at the Eastern States Exposition in West Springfield, MA. Each of the New England states will host their respective specialty food producers on the front lawns of their buildings on the Avenue of States.
The Vermont Agency of Agriculture would like to invite Vermont specialty food businesses an opportunity to participate. There are no participation fees, but reservations are required. Businesses can sample and sell their products from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on the 26th. The Agency will provide up to three admission tickets per participating business.
Businesses interested in participating should contact Bruce Martell at (802) 828-3461 or bruce.martell@state.vt.us by Friday, September 5. Companies will need to provide their own tables, chairs and any tents or coverings (up to 10’ X 10’). Space will be awarded on a first come, first served basis.
The West Springfield Health Department requires that all food-selling operations at The Big E obtain a vendor’s permit (contact Jeanne Galloway at 413-263-3206 or jgalloway@west-springfield.ma.us). A one-day permit is $25.
The Big E is New England’s largest agricultural fair, attracting 1.3 million visitors over 17 days. Businesses can learn more about The Big E at http://www.thebige.com/
